SYNOPSIS

Monday morning at 6 UTC, a wavy west-northwesterly jet in the mid- and upper troposhere stretches across northern Europe, with a ridge near Iceland and a trough over the Baltic Sea. A broad low-pressure system is centered over northern Algeria at mid-levels and souther Italy at low-levels and is filled with cold air. Slight instability is expected to result in a couple of thunderstorms over the indicated areas. In response to an approaching trough, pressure falls are expected over northern Libia during the second half of the period, that could develop in an active low-pressure system to the south of Italy on Tuesday.
